Early Childhood Center (18 mos. - 4 years)
The Early Childhood Center of the Hebrew Academy of Morris County is a developmentally based program that enriches the lives of children ranging in age from 18 months through pre-kindergarten. Our staff seeks to provide a variety of interactive experiences through which the young child may grow emotionally, socially, cognitively, physically and spiritually.
THEMES: Our theme-based curriculum provides experiences in
language
arts,
math, reading
readiness, phonemic awareness, science, social studies, and the arts. Themes
vary from classroom to classroom and cover topics such as The Anatomy, Night and
Day, The Five Senses, Machines, Animals, The Family, Underwater, Weather,
Community Helpers, Transportation, Food, Pets, Dinosaurs, The Jungle,
Measurement, and Favorite Author. Judaic themes are woven throughout the
curriculum as children learn about holidays and Jewish values such as
tzedekah.
SPECIALS: These youngest members of the Hebrew Academy family benefit from physical education in our gym, visits to our expansive school library, music classes with our music teacher, and after-school offerings such as soccer and dance programs.
SUMMER CAMP: Our summer program, Camp Kef Lee, offers the flavor of our preschool with the addition of extended outdoor experiences for our entering 3-year-olds.
